What do we do at arm wrestling practice?
We practice arm wrestling!
We practice arm wrestling!
A traditional practice would start off with stretching, some back and forth pulling with someone to get warmed up and then on to the reason we're all here!
During practice you will learn about what technique is, how to adjust or correct your form, how to maintain control and how to adjust for an advantaged yet legal hand grip. You'll learn how to do a top roll, a hook and many more different techniques. You will also figure out which technique works best for you. Although, being able to efficiently maneuver all the different techniques is a big advantage on your part!
You'll also learn what NOT to do when arm wrestling. The biggest rule for arm wrestling safety is to always look at your hand. If you're pulling right handed, you keep your eyes on your right hand and towards you right shoulder. If you're pulling left handed you keep your eyes on your left hand and towards your left shoulder. When you're pulling, NEVER look to the arm that's not pulling! This is the arm-break position and it is very important to remember!
So, if you're interested in learning more about arm wrestling then drop on by for one of our weekly practices! Practices are held at Jeff Kirby's house in Hildale, UT every Saturday from 6 pm - 8 pm. For the exact address, see the "Contact" tab in the menu.
